Meet Our Team
The Cranemasters team is made up of overhead crane and industry professionals. We understand the need for crane operating training because we have all worked in the field. We have seen the best and worst habits in crane operation and we’re able to bring that experience into the classroom for our students.
Rick Sikora, President & CEO
Rick has been in the overhead crane and rigging industry for over 25 years. He started his career as a crane operator, loading trailers with multiple types of loads, and became an apprentice overhead crane technician just 2 years later.
As a technician he had the great opportunity to travel all over North America, being trained directly by the overhead crane manufacturers from several of the various brands.
Rick has a diverse background from working in various trades and undertaking training at various institutions. At NAIT, Rick gained proficiency in four different trades (welding red seal, 3rd year millwright, 2nd year electrician, 3rd year auto body mechanic). Rick has completed supervisory management courses at the University of Alberta and the Frasier Institute. He also participates in many technical committees and societies relating to Overhead Crane and Rigging such as Alberta OH&S Guidelines, Alberta Hoisting and Rigging Society and the CSA B167 technical committee.
Rick’s relationships with crane and rigging manufactures are part of his dedication to ensuring information that is relayed to our customers is documented and supportable. He is committed to working towards certified crane training that offers consistency across the industry.
Tony Ragusa, Training Director
Tony has had hands-on experience within the industrial trades for most of his career. Graduating from NAIT in the Mechanical Industrial Engineering Technology program, he immediately began working on crane equipment - from hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, robotic and electric overhead cranes.
His interest in rigging evolved as a crane technician and he soon found a new desire that would use his technical and personal skills - teaching.
Tony’s extensive experience gives him the skills to interact with people in a respectful manner, solve problems, provide exceptional service and maintain good working relationships with all customers and employers.
Having developed and delivered crane and rigging training for several years, Tony looks forward to the ongoing pursuit of a unified crane operating training program.
